Benefits
SAF Registry

Bringing benefits across the industry

The SAF Registry brings benefits for all SAF stakeholders.

  • Flexibility of choice amongst several formulas to calculate SAF emissions reduction based on its environmental properties
  • Support for transactions in multiple units, including kilograms, tonnes, liters, and gallons
  • Option to invite carbon auditors
  • Interoperability with at least one other registry to avoid double-issuance
  • Free access and no transaction fees for all users until April 2027
  • Transparent and agnostic toward SAF properties – no arbitrary restrictions on minimum SAF quality to qualify for use in the Registry nor timelines on SAF registration, redemption, etc.
  • SABA Eligible

Specific user groups can also benefit from the following:

  • Voluntary and regulatory reporting and claiming of SAF environmental attributes
  • No orphaned Scope 1 environmental attributes – Aircraft Operators are always assigned Scope 1 benefits at each redemption, even if they are not directly involved in a transaction
  • Registration of SAF environmental attributes and transfer among Aircraft Operators, Fuel Producers, and Suppliers
  • Group-level user management to accommodate central management of Scope 3 sales and SAF reporting in airline groups
  • Claiming module to allocate redemptions to a claiming year and auto-generate the CORSIA Eligible Fuels Reporting Template
  • Registration of SAF environmental attributes and transfer among Fuel Producers, Suppliers, and Aircraft Operators
  • Option to initiate a transfer to an Aircraft Operator with a pre-determined allocation of Scope 3 environmental attributes to End Customers and Freight Forwarders, facilitating the execution of multi-party contracts
  • Option to directly market Scope 3 benefits to End Customer using the Intermediary functionality
  • Generating emissions excerpts and emissions statements for End Customers and Freight Forwarders for eligible transactions
  • Claiming module to allocate redemptions to a claiming year
  • Self-serve approach to managing inventories with an option to download Emissions Statements (proof of redemption)
  • Option to invite auditors to manage Scope 3 claims
  • Transparency on SAF batch details, including incentives, mandates, and other policy instruments
  • Flexible transactions enabling agreements with Aircraft Operators, Intermediaries, or Fuel Producer/Suppliers
  • Tracking SAF uptake against targets
  • Validation of legislative claims e.g., CORSIA or regional/national policies
  • Option to request any airline to share redemption information
  • Opportunity to pilot a specific use-case with the CADO team and relevant stakeholders
